What donations support
- Veterinary exams, surgery, medication, and rehabilitation
- Food — quality kibble, fresh and freeze-dried toppers, and extra raw protein when severely underweight strays need to gain weight safely
- Supplements, enrichment, and training tools for fearful dogs
- Supplies for dogs placed in our care by partner rescues
- Transportation — fuel, tolls, and vehicle wear for rescue runs
We are based in Venice, Florida. Our three main partner rescues are each about an hour from the haven. We make that drive regularly for intakes, vet visits, and handoffs. Some pulls are much farther (including cross-state runs to bring a dog into care). Veterinary care is our largest expense. Food is usually next: we feed a mix of high-quality kibble, fresh and freeze-dried foods, and—when a dog arrives thin—substantial extra protein to help them recover. That variety adds up quickly, especially with meat prices today. Transportation is our third major ongoing cost. Supplements are not far behind—especially in months when we are not making long rescue runs.
